The Druid City Bicycle CLub and Habitat Tuscaloosa will host a century (and shorter ride) to support Habitat Housing in West Alabama. Our goal is to raise enough money to build one Habitat house. As you well know, affordable housing is a problem in our country.
8 April 2006 start at MBUSI Tuscaloosa. Mercedes Benz United States International (MBUSI) is our prime sponsor. Start is at the Vance Plant exit 89 off of I-20/59 towards Tuscaloosa. The plant is about 35 miles from Downtown Birmingham.
Full supported SAG and restops. This is an out and back with a Sprott option for a double metric. Ride starts in Tuscaloosa County and wanders through Bibb and Perry Counties.
Mileage is 104 (a little further than advertised - my bad). The route is challenging and hilly. There are a few steep climbs, but it is constantly rolling. It is not a sprinters course.
Also, DCBC offers the Scorpion Century series - at least one a month - cheap thrills and cost. Please check out our web site www.druidcity.org
