National Bike Challenge

The National Bike Challenge is a nationwide event uniting thousands of current bicyclists & encouraging countless new riders. It is a FREE & EASY way to challenge yourself, your colleagues, & your community to ride more while competing on a local, state, & national level.
Join the Montgomery Bicycle Club group for the National Bike Challenge at https://www.LoveToRide.net/usa/groups/265?locale=en-US

What is it?

The National Bike Challenge is a nationwide event uniting thousands of current bicyclists and encouraging countless new riders. It is a free and easy way to challenge yourself, your colleagues and your community to ride more while competing on a local, state and national level.

From May 1st - September 30th, registered individuals and social teams can compete for free throughout the challenge for top spots on the NBC leaderboards.
We're also running two, month-long workplace challenges in May and September where businesses can compete for top spots on the business and industry leaderboards. Organizations compete with other organizations in the same size category.

How does it work?

  • You ride counts towards the Challenge if it is at least 10 minutes or more. Check out all the Leaderboards that are being tracked!
  • All outdoor rides over 10 minutes count: commuting, errands, mountain biking, road biking, family rides, etc.
  • All data is input in the National Bike Challenge via Strava, May My Ride, Ride Report, or Endomondo.
  • You can enter your rides manually via web portal or use the smartphone app.
  • You can also upload  from a GPS device.

Competitions

  • Multiple levels across State, Community, local advocacy groups, schools, companies.
  • Leagues can be organized for customized competitions.
  • This year: Teams can be any size (the leaderboards will have size categories to level the playing field so big teams won’t compete against smaller teams :-)
  • This year: You can form a team anytime, you can decide which month(s) you want to really compete in, you can see your team’s performance by month and for the whole May-September period. You can even continue riding with your team after the Challenge ends (the ‘Teams’ are part of our new ‘Clubs and Groups’ feature which is year-round).
  • NB. You can join/create a team for this year's challenge by pressing the 'Join Group' link on your profile.

Why do companies participate?

  • Showcase Corporate Sustainability
  • Enhance employment brand
  • Great way to build a grass roots bike culture
  • Fun way to build employee engagement
  • Improve employee health and wellness
  • Connect with other companies in community
Get Started Now

We are looking forward to getting started with you May 1!
